Paulie Polka is a pop surrealism artist influenced by classic horror films, vintage adverts and German expressionism. Paulie works with varied traditional materials such as pencils, pastels and acrylics.
Paulie mainly creates bizarre lowbrow pieces that range from realistic to cartoony, from humorous to spooky, and are deeply inspired by both the 50s era and classic horror films. No wonder Paulie's well recognised Kiddies came into being shaped by retro adverts. Trimmed with artist's distinctive creepy flavour, Kiddies as a mixture of innocence and disturbing elements, taste deliciously grotesque.
Since Paulie's first exhibition in 2000, her Creations have been shown and published across the UK, Europe and the US of A.
